Not only did Europe beat the USA in the Ryder Cup, Lytham Green Drive beat last year’s total for the Charity Golf Day.

Held on the 28th of September in splendid conditions with the course looking at its best you raised a fantastic £12,000.00.

Well done to everyone who played and contributed to the day.

There were 33 teams playing in a Texas Scramble and 129 for dinner.
How Ian and his merry band coped I am not sure, but they also decorated the function room with bunting, flags and table decorations from Europe and the USA.

The theme for the golf was the Ryder Cup with prizes for the best team name and the best dressed team.

The “Ryder Cock Horses” led by the redoubtable Andy Cuffe (James Cuffe, Johnny Saunders, and Steve Wilson) won the best team name. (I think the judges played safe when they saw some of the names!!)

The best dressed team was “The RydeStone Cowboys” (Stuart Wilson & Co) with outfits that were tailor made for them.

The “Wildcard Whackers” (Jane Dickens & Co) represented Europe and quite magnificent they were too!!

“Ryder from behind” (Dave Butler, Louise Bowtell, Steve Gregson, and Steve Murray) won the home team prize with “Ryders on the course” (Vinnie Donahoe, Roy Flitcroft, Howard Hudson and Mike Marsden) runners up

The Trophy Winners for the best team overall was “3 Men and Les-be-honest” from Kingsland Drinks. The trophy was awarded for the best score of the visitors and home teams.

Janet Walker did a brilliant job as MC for the evening and the auction. Many thanks Janet.

Francis House have sent their heartfelt thanks for the support and the sum raised.

Well done Lytham Green Drive Golf Club.
